People think freelancing means working in bed all day with a chai latte in hand. Reality? It’s juggling 3 client accounts, 2 pending proposals, and filming a Reel with one hand while answering emails with the other. Here’s a real, unfiltered look at my week running K.O. Creative.
Monday: Client content planning day.
I map out the week for clients, write captions, and finalize a content calendar. It’s basically me, Metri-cool, and a million sticky notes.
Tuesday: Shooting & Editing.
This is when I get visual. I’ll be taking photos and videos of coffee beans, fashion outfits, bread baking or styling vintage jewelry for product shots. CapCut and Lightroom are my best friends.
Wednesday: Client check-ins & analytics.
I send out performance updates, tweak strategies, and follow up with potential clients (aka chasing people who ghosted me after asking for a proposal).
Thursday: Blog & Portfolio work.
This is my ‘build my own business’ day. I’ll write a blog like this or update my site with fresh client wins. It’s easy to forget your own brand when you’re busy building others.
Friday: Admin & invoicing.
Not glamorous, but necessary. I track hours, send invoices, and handle all the boring-but-vital backend stuff.
Freelancing gives you freedom, but it demands discipline. The work doesn’t magically show up — you have to chase it, build it, nurture it. But if you’re willing to wear all the hats, the payoff isn’t just financial, it’s building a life on your terms.
Simply yours, Ky
