Realize Real Eyes

Realize Real Eyes

A short time ago, I realized that we can see a soul’s emotions through their eyes—how they view themselves and the world, their lens. It speaks volumes about how someone is truly feeling.

Except for those who don’t feel much. They are the ones who are unreadable, emotionless eyes masked behind a warped narrative.

Can’t they see the pain in my eyes? Was the fake smile not enough? To ask how I am?

The walls within my consciousness are crumbling. I’m processing the realization that everything I’ve known and experienced leading up to this doesn’t matter. I wish people would realize that nothing truly matters if the ones we love are no longer around.

But they don’t understand that I can see their eyes too. If I catch them by surprise, it’s pity. A split second of excitement, followed by the realization of what happened.

The process of looking me up and down. Analyzing, judging, gossiping. Isn’t that the chain of events in power dynamics? It’s a vicious cycle, eating up real eyes, one by one.
